Hey! I’m Chathusha Mendis from Colombo, Sri Lanka, where I code the future.
I've been drawn to building things for as long as I can remember, a passion that truly ignited with my first computer back in nursery school. Years of gaming gave me enough exposure to want to create something myself. I wrote my first line of code around age 12, and I'll never forget the feeling of copy-pasting public static void main(String[] args) in Java, having no idea what it did but knowing it was the key. That leap from player to creator was the start of everything.
I discovered early on that my passion wasn't for one particular hobby, but for the process of mastering a complex system. It was the same intense focus whether I was anticipating an opponent's next move on a chessboard, learning the deep theory of a raga, deconstructing a network to find a hidden flag in a CTF, or practicing the precise techniques of a water rescue. Each discipline demanded a total commitment to its rules, and that dedication is what led me to become a certified lifesaver, a competitive chess player, a cybersecurity enthusiast, and earn the title of Sangeeth Visharad in North Indian classical music.
I have always been driven by a passion for understanding how things work, which is reflected in my academic path. I built a strong foundation in my O-Levels before advancing to the Physical Science stream for my A-Levels. Today, I am expanding on that technical base at the university level, currently undertaking rigorous double degree programs in both Computer Science and Software Engineering to deepen my expertise in the field.
Today, I channel my passion for building things as a Full Stack Engineer at AxisTech. While I enjoy tackling complex problems in my day job, I'm also driven to create my own solutions. My personal projects are my lab for exploring new ideas and building software that I hope will one day help make a small part of the world better, one line of code at a time.
